This is our 308 EG. When we acquired this rifle it was in pristine condition with the exception of a sling stud in the buttstock. With the help of a friend we were able to acquire a new old stock buttstock from Savage. I hung onto that stock a long time, waiting for its perfect home. It is hard to imagine a better fit. Congrats to you both!

hang on to the old stock if the assembly numbers match the number on the tang, forearm and buttplate.

I always had the thought to find a rough EG and rebore to 338 Fed. I think there are one or two being done in 338 Fed right now?
