I'm thinking Reacher has it right. Wear clothes for 3 days and buy new ones. Hell, I'd even shower between. If I had to.  Packing for 2 weeks in Australia- another 2 days in Tahiti - PITA -especially when each and every item has to be wifely "approved". 3 pairs of j clothes i(read jeans, etc. maybe 6 of underwear )in a carry-on and laundry once a week would do me fine, but Nooooooooo!

My wife approves some stuff around here but my wardrobe is not one of them.
Whatever happens, just enjoy you vacation.
And yeah, if I knew they were gonna have the clothes I like to wear at the destination, I might just buy new ones. I'm particular you know

Walmarts worldwide means you can dress in Chinese-made clothes 24/7 and toss them before you fly home. Their store brand jeans last about 2 weeks. It's not a bug, it's a design feature!

I typically buy cheap underwear and socks before a trip, wear each of them two days and toss 'em. I never bring home dirty undies.
In my Air Force days, it was not unheard of to break an airplane while away from base. In that case, you were stuck with the flight suit and undies you were wearing. The joke was that you'd wear them frontward, backward, then inside out, and finally inside out and backward. That was when you hit your ALCUD -- Absolute Last Clean Underwear Day.

I have a backpack. I roll underwear, socks, T shirt into a pair of jeans. The pack holds 2 such rolls. Then the clothes on my back. I ain't a-feered of no laundromat! Went up for a 3 day deep-sea charter on Kodiak Island. What should have been a 5 day trip, turned into a 12 day marathon.
Me and my 3 changes if clothes did just fine.
My wife?
She can grab one big purse and a small backpack and be ready for a 6 week cruise!

Most Aussie visitors would pick F1J1 as it is closer......
Just remember Australia is a continent, the only island continent, so planning where to go is not easy from the outside.

My wife loves to travel. Whether we’re on a motorcycle, in a car, or a U-Haul truck pulling a trailer, it doesn’t matter. She’ll have that thing crammed full of chit before we leave.
