Never had ramps, but my ex said when she was in school, boys would eat a bunch so they'd get sent home due to the stink. My mother worked as a supervisor in a telephone switchboard, the old long cordboard type. Looks good. My dad loves ramps and will eat them plain by the hand full. I like them cut up fine and used sparingly in potato salad.

Wife's uncle pickled some ramps/leeks in simple salt/vinegar/water brine, but added a teaspoon per pint of fresh horseradish. Tasted spectacular, was absolute torture on the nose of everyone around me for the next 24+ hours..... I "may" have had 6-10 beers that day too

I can't wait till the Ramps come up on the farm where we are living at. There is a good patch of them in back of the house in the woods.
