If I need barnacles to see the turkey, I can't shoot him. If a 🦃 turkey is that far away, the chances of me changing his mind to come my way are slim.....or not! Years ago, I cleaned out my turkey vest. Vest weight was cut in half and no longer rattles like a peanut thrasher. Binoculars is just one of those items I decided to leave at home.
YMMV

I have never carried any over the years but I put my Vortex 10x42’s in my Alps pack this year. The lease I have was just thinned and there are multiple spots now you can see hundreds of yards.
I think the binos will be useful for mid morning and afternoon hunts when birds aren’t as vocal.

Just remember, better you can see, better the birds can see! One of the places I hunt is in central Wisconsin. Until the underbrush leafs out, birds can see too good and it's really tough to call them in. Thankfully, there's plenty of terrain to set up calling spots where they don't see anything until they're in range.
It isn't what happens to you that defines you, it's what you DO about what happens to you that defines you!
