Why the new barrel?

Original barrel was smooth(no vent rib), fixed MOD choke and has a couple spots where bluing rubbed through while riding in a gun rack. I thought I would dove hunt more with the 1100, especially with the new barrel, but I try to keep my empties for reloading...both my .410 O/U's have extractors so I don't lose any hulls with them. Thanks for asking !
