It was a Cotton Mouth. Seldom see a Cotton Mouth ran over. This one must have been moving to a pond somewhere.

Lizards and skinks only so far. Waiting for the snakes. Last time we were down here in GA we saw a 6’ black snake climb straight up an oak tree by our driveway. Crazy sight. Got to get used to seeing these things.

Black snakes will climb trees and bushes to raid bird nest.

Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

Saw a big, dead cottonmouth this weekend on the highway. First of many for the year.
