When my daughter attended college she played Volleyball on scholarship. Their freshman year they were required to attend a studyhall before practice. She said the first time her and a couple other volleyball girls walked into the classroom they were the only whites in there. Almost every black football player was in there trying to keep their grades up. At that time if your grades fell below a certain level no matter what grade you were in you attended studyhall or you did not play.
