Took my 2023 Silverado 3.0 in for an Oil Change and Tire Rotation yesterday to the dealer. Luckily this one was covered (Dealer provided 3 free oil changes as a sales incentive when I purchased it) and no out of pocket, but if I had to pay, total was $141. For Oil and a Filter - and there were no extras (air filter or cabin filter)
So, it got me curious, and I asked what they charge for a fuel filter change since I will need that in 5-6k miles...$232!!! The filter online is anywhere from $40-50 and its a 5-10 minute job watching YouTubers demonstrate...Needless to say, I will be doing it myself when needed.
It sucks because the dealership has awesome people and its close to my work, but not paying those kinds of prices!

Minimum 1 hour labor charge - yeah, I see how it's 232 with tax etc. 141 for oil - 7 quarts of diesel oil and a filter is 85 bucks on Amazon. AC Delco, not Mobil 1 or Amsoil. That leaves 56 dollars in labor and tax left over. Bet it took longer than 1/3 of an hour to do.

When I bought my 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD , duramax, I bought the $3000, 100K extended warranty because with my 98 Dodge Cummins, I had to replace the injector pump three times at $1500+ each, clutch, throw out bearing, pressure plate at $2K, blown head gas and every thing it screwed up , $5K.
So far I have had9 oil changes /w tire rotations and one replaced blown tire. Almost $1250 total and a headlamp/bucket assembly $1200. At this rate I will pass the $3k buy
If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles

Well, someone has to pay the trannies and mixed race couples who do their advertising.

Adding insult to injury, then they add the "shop supplies" charge (rubber gloves and disposable shop rags). Most can't even tell you what constitutes "shop supplies" and the amount charged is pro rated on the total of the bill. If you complain loud enough to service manager many times they'll remove that charge.
