Here is a rare El Paso Weaver 50th anniversary K-4 Micro-trac scope. They were built in 1983 right before the El Paso plant closed for good. This one is serial number 10 (!) . It is very fitting that Weaver chose the K-4 for the commemorative ss it was their most popular model and the late K-4 Micro-trac scopes were the best k-4 scopes ever made. It is new, unused in the box and has never been used or mounted in any way. The scope is flawless and the optics are crisp and clear . The scope is a deep polished blue steel tube with nice gold accents and roiled engraving around the scope bells. The matching Ring mounts are also roll engraved. The turret caps have gold relief profile of the founder Bill Weaver and is set in a red velvet lined black presentation box . The specs of the scope are typical for a late Micro-Trac 12 long with generous 4" eye relief. The scope weighs ounces and the scope rings are low height. The turret adjustments are standard 1/4" friction MIcro=trac adjustments of the era. These scopes are VERY seldom seen for sale. Here is a collectable scope dealer who currently wants $1k for his.. https://www.vintagegunscopes.com/top-shelf/weaver-k4-50-50th-anniversary-collector-edition-c1983 This one is priced a bit more reasonably at $295 plus $15 shipping in lower 48. PayPal preferred or USPS M O as payment only. Thanks.

Thanks fellows. It is neat.
What I have been trying to figure out the whole time I have owned it is WHO this serial number 10 was given to?
I know enough about the release of these that execs, employees, gun industry VIPs and Gun writers were given some of these as gifts.
Surely, serial number 10 originally went to someone important in the Weaver universe..

I have 3 of these NIB as yours is, but none with nearly that low of s/n. I think your price is very reasonable. At one time I attempted to find production numbers on this model, but hit dead ends very quickly. GLWS

Thanks Fireball. You pulled the trigger before my self-discipline failed.

The scope is yours . Will send a reply OM. It'll look good on one of these, no? Damn straight it would look good on that rifle! The fact that I don't really own any Fancy Engraved Classic American rifles to mount it on is why it stayed in the box until now.

For some reason...this nostalgic scope, and the story behind the plant closure...is emblematic of our decline...makes me sad for the America we lost along the way.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.
