A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. - Second Amendment to the US Constitution Regulate Reg"u*late (-l[=a]t), v. t. [L. regulatus, p. p. of regulare, fr. regula. See Regular.]
1. To adjust by rule, method, or established mode; to direct by rule or restriction; to subject to governing principles or laws.
2. To put in good order; as, to regulate the disordered state of a nation or its finances.
3. To adjust, or maintain, with respect to a desired rate, degree, or condition; as, to regulate the temperature of a room, the pressure of steam, the peed of a machine, etc. [1913 Webster] The first portion of the 2A is too often ignored. Clearly the first definition of regulate is proscribed by the latter portion of the amendment. Instead the constitution recognizes the necessity of a well regulated militia using the latter two definitions of regulate. Imagine if the state expended the same treasure to so regulate the militia in school programs as they do to regulate sports in school and thereby establish vibrant programs. Instead they eschew the appropriate definitions in favor of the first. Why governments have been instituted by men has been forgotten. Clearly why do please 'splain ? And remember, the Bill of Rights are all Personal Rights. Added because the People were mentioned no where else. The entire rest of the Constitution is powers of/restrictions on its Government.
America is (supposed to be) a Republic, NOT a democracy. Learn the difference, help end the lie. Fear a government that fears your guns.

This really got my attention, so I wanted to share it with anyone interested in history. One of my friends told me about a powerful lesson in her daughter's high school class recently. They're learning about the Salem Witch Trials, and their teacher told them they were going to play a game. "I'm going to come around and whisper to each of you whether you're a witch or a regular person. Your goal is to build the largest group possible that does NOT have a witch in it. At the end, any group found to include a witch gets a failing grade." The teens dove into grilling each other. One fairly large group formed, but most of the students broke into small, exclusive groups, turning away anyone they thought gave off even a hint of guilt. "Okay," the teacher said. "You've got your groups. Time to find out which ones fail. All witches, please raise your hands." No one raised a hand. The kids were confused and told the teacher he'd messed up the game. "Did I? Was anyone in Salem an actual witch? Or did everyone just believe what they'd been told?" And that is how you teach kids how easy it is to divide a community. Keep being welcoming, beautiful people. Shunning, scapegoating and dividing destroys far more than they protect. Do not allow the political elite to divide us. We must remain united against those who would do so. Post credit: Christo Lyons A number of people were executed for witchcraft but all by hanging. NONE were burned at the stake. I remember reading that one was pressed to death. That's a new one on me. How was it done, I wonder? I suspect the point of the post was to show how easy it is to divide society by artificially induced fear, not the means of execution. In a classroom setting, would they just ghost the guilty Hexe?
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!
