I think mine was about $700 with Black Onyx, wouldn't sell it to be honest.....melt it down when I die for all I care. I wouldn't sell mine, either. Besides, it apparently retains its value a heck of a lot better than a savings account.

Honestly curious, what other intrinsic value would it have? It's literally made of money. Real money, not Federal Reserve fiat currency.

A masculine ring?
Masculine jewelry?
Okay. No such thing. What about a West Point ring?

That men wear earrings does not make them masculine items.

Wedding rings and watches get a free pass, otherwise I agree.

Jewelry is jewelry. Like it or not. I don’t like it personally. Some do along with a quart of cologne. More power to them.

Still have all three HS, BS, and MA, Wife bought the MA and yes I was in a Fraternity, even after 57 years still have many great friends from those days. Met my wife of 54 years at a Frat party, With a College Degree learned I could make more money working with a brain instead of getting my hands dirty, which I did to pay for College.

I don't wear jewelry anymore. My high school girlfriend lost my HS class ring in the river ….it's a long story but it was an accident. It was never replaced. After that I knew I would never have a college class ring. In college I wore gold jewelry like rings and chains because it was "In style". During my business career, I was given a couple of gold rings for my accomplishments with a company I worked for. Today I only wear my gold wedding ring. All of my old jewelry is kept in a bag to be melted down some day. Probably need to weigh all of it and who knows that day may come soon.

Where would you get the idea of melting a gold ring?
