On this Ruger no 1 I am waiting for has a brake, any idea how they attached it, I thought the barrel would be external threads, yet this looks like they had to have cut internal threads to attach it.
Any thoughts?

Parts;
Top of the morning, I hope the day's looking bright up your way and you're all well.

It does look like it's an internal thread on that for sure, but it's going to be tough to tell until you get it in hand is my guess.

Either way, if you want it off and cleaned up so it looks like it never was there, you'll likely be finding a local gunsmith who can do that for you.

I see there are a couple not too far from you, some I've got some inside info on and some I have not heard of before.

Feel free to PM or text me if you think I can be of any assistance finding one.

All the best.

Dwayne

Thanks Dwayne, just thought it odd, was at the kelowna outdoor show this weekend and showed the fella from Nechako the pictures, he figured it was custom, but had no idea what make or how it was done.

I have never had a brake, not even on my 375 H&H, did get the Ruger 338 win mag that has bee magna ported, and a Remington 338 win mag in brakes, waiting to try them all and see the difference when fired.

I keep buying more and more, recently got that 94/22 M which goes with my std 22 94 and my 30/30, and already had a Browning bl-22 and ended up with a second one.

I bet that's internally threaded. There's a step on the barrel which in the angled photo appears to line up with the middle of the front sight. I bet the end of that area is a larger diameter so that the brake could be threaded in.

JB Weld is a great product.
