I’ll skip the two and vote for Mr. Jimmy Page!!!!!! His riffs are like no other. He’s wired different. I wish he would stayed with a tele.
\I really like Led Zep, was the soundtrack of my youth, but as a guitar player? Page cant tune Joe Satriani's guitar.

Whoa, whoa, WHOA!
Satch has some skills, but he can't hold a candle to the 10 Zep albums!
Satch never did anything HALF as cool as the turn around on Since I've Been Lovin You, or had a tone even 1/4 as good!
Puh-lease........
Page did his best work in the studio by far and away. He came up with great licks. He repackaged stuff really really well. Love them. 100%
I listen to LZ all the time. Surfing with the alien was cool as hell, loved it, but its one album.
Since I've been loving you is an excellent example of one of his best works.
All that said,
Its quaint nostalgia thinking JP is actually a better guitarist.
Like comparing McCartney to Jaco.

Been listening on Pandora to Satriani, Vai, the Hebrew kid, and others of like. Amazing stuff. Maybe Amazingmaximus. SRV hits me differently. Singing has a lot to do with that. For one thing it changes the genre. The amazing stringmeister, just jets himself into another world with “voice”. In the same way SRV differentiates himself from the voice, rhythm, lead solo, rock groups with his personal brand of guitar work. His music has no half life. It will endure forever.
Satriani plays music beyond my level of understanding. He slays me. SRV plays music I want to dive into and not come up for air. Competition BBQ vs Backyard BBQ maybe (by someone that knows the pig). Competition gets you a ribbon. King of the Backyard BBQers gets you immortality. SRV is immortal. I have no clue where the Satriani compadres go. I imagine that branch of the tree will evolve into something unpredictable in fore site but recognizable in hind site.
Tripped my trigger on this one. The old so familiar, the newer so amazing.
Colossians 3:17 (New King James Version) "And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
