We had a D-44 way back when. Heavy beast that hated to run. It's weight alone was all that was needed to cut vertically, when it ran. I hated that thing and would hope you couldn't get parts for it.

I have a ProMac 10-10s Special Edition that I bought new in 1982 or sum such. Heavy but I was young then and didn’t notice … even used for limbing. Never had a big problem getting it started, but never started as easily as a Stihl.

A few years ago noticed it was a collectible and cleaned it up and got it started. It’s a beast, found some big wood for it and it would dig in with a grunt and chew its way through. Sounds like a Cummins diesel under load.

Now days just use a Stihl MS161 and MS171.

My first saw, forgot the model. 24" bar, too tired to cut wood after it started, if it did . My ex wife ran over it in the driveway , best thing she ever did ! Threw the saw away, got rid of the wife , and bought a used Homelite XP 1000 with 28"bar , was a pretty good saw in its time !
