For all those guys who, as punishment for the crime of being a child, are/were forced to take piano lessons: when Mom finally gives/gave up and vacates/vacated the sentence, we should/should have be/been permitted to destroy that m-f, c-s, pos metronome by whatever means of violent destruction we deem/deemed appropriate.

Get yourself "Band in a box" to play along with you and keep the time.

I had to listen to both my sisters banging on a piano, my brother with his trombone, and then he and our mother took accordion lessons. I can't stand listening to music until this day.

I use it occasionally... If I'm working on a gnarly piece of timing, or to establish a 'feel' of the correct tempo.

But, usually it's just set on 'ad libitum'
