I need some hip boots and would like to get some that won't crack and let water in after the first season of use. I don't need anything fancy - just something to help me wade to shore when I anchor by boat offshore at night when I'm at the coast.

Frogg togg, Gator waders probably your best option. Chene gear if you don't care about price.

I can't stand neoprene any more.

I’ve tried different Cabela’s and SERVUS over the years. My favorite hip boots by far are the lacrosse big chief. Then I add my custom orthotic to give them more support.

I know some guys who serious hunters in Alaska who use SINMS stocking foot waist high waders with good wading boots.

I've been at new hip boots too. I kind of like the insulated lacrosse boots with the air Bob sole

I like Servus first then LaCrosse.
They're heavy, so you don't want to walk very far in them.

For long life, you have to store them out of the sun and not folded.
I hang mine by the heels with large Pony spring clamps with a wire fabricated hanger.

For just wading from the boot I would not want a stockingfoot.
You want the quick on, quick off feature of the bootfoot.
