The Shiloh chamber is not like the original shells I have seen. here is a chamber cast from a original 74 Sharps. Man I wish I could down load a photo on this forum with out making it a postage stamp.
I load my Jamison brass with 84 grains of 1.5 Swiss for the accuracy load but I just use a .03 card on each side of a 1/8" lube wad.
I don't have the mould anymore. I let Bill use if and he passed to the other side and I wont ask Sidra I'm going to have Brooks make another one if he still has the cutter for it.
Yes Sir MB, it will indeed get it done, i still have all my Sharps rifles and still love them greatly, but, since our old Buddy Bagwell left us they're all just different now............................................
Gunner Bill's passing is a major loss to all who knew him but he'd expect us all to keep picking them up and put them down. He never let much stop him. Mb
" Cheapest velocity in the world comes from a long barrel and I sure do like them. MB "
You're exactly right MB, i needed to hear that, Thanks! i have a little more load development/sight correlation to do on the 20 twist 45-70 Montana Roughrider Sidra sold me, as it is a 510gr flat nosed paper patch bullet at 1266 fps from an Ed Tilton mold cast with 16/1 alloy will do it all in the game fields and mountains.
Need to get back on that 40-90 2-5/8ths and finish it up too, 400gr flat nosed paper patch from Steve Brooks mold at 1400 fps will get a lot done too.
Gunner I think of Bill quite often. Never heard a foul word from him and always straight forward. Well once he let one go LOL.
He just got a new rifle and he was shooting his Hank Williams rifle also and I said I will let you shoot Calamity (my .50-2.5) so I can say I shot a a famous singers rifle and he said NAW, I said it's not bad with the load I have so I sat up and away from the sticks and let one round go down range with the muzzle resting on the sticks and shot it one hand like a revolver. Well he shot it and !@#$% came from him that I never heard him use. He said she split my lip and blood was running.... I said Bill I didn't tell you to kiss Calamity just shoot it. LOL Now you know why I named it after Calamity Jane. I also miss him Gunner.
