I have been shooting my latest LW 270. I was interested in using a pretty much off the shelf rifle rather than one assembled from components.
I bought a Wby Mk V 2.0 in 6.5 RPM. I had a Krieger 1-9” .277” barrel so had it installed on the rifle. Barrel was cut to 20 5/8”. No other alterations were made. In the process I was able to get weights of the various parts. Muzzle diameter .565”.
Bolt + receiver with factory Trigger Tech trigger…22.6 oz. Incidentally was easy to get trigger to 2# 14oz. Barrel 2#. Stock 1# 4oz.
With my favorite scope and TPS Hunter 7075 rings it is 5# 15oz.
Shot three groups with factory ammo. .390”, .660”, .920”.
The Trigger Tech trigger is a game changer for me. I wouldn’t have considered owning a Mk V because the old trigger design was horrible. The new factory triggers are so good I would not upgrade to the TT aftermarket offerings.

I wouldn’t have considered owning a Mk V because the old trigger design was horrible. I have really appreciated the MK V triggers. Have been able to tune them to 2.5 lbs with a crisp break, very likable. Have owned 6, all Southgate models. Care to expound on what you found unacceptable? Congrats on the MK V 2.0
