Went to a GS in GA this AM, about 60mi NE of hotlanta....

A brick of CCI SV - $99

Primers were $20/100

Best ammo deal I found was $35/box for 38 Super...

45 ACP in the $45-50 range..

Gun prices were mostly a bit stiff compared to west central Florida...

Most of the older, basic, everyday, Marlin or Winchester lever guns were in the $900 to 1000 range...

Lots of new colt Series 70 1911s for $900-ish, older ones 2 to 2 1/2 times that.....

A 1lb of Reloader 19 - $90

Alas, several talked about my all metal, 1972, 10-22, but no one jumped on $300 for it....

Hour there, hour back, $12 at the door...... I am underwhelmed!

They can be hit or miss. I went to one locally a couple of weeks ago and almost bought a 5th gen G30. I could have walked out the door with it for $500 which I think is a good deal. I didn't buy it because I'm torn between the G30 and G21 at the moment. I can get a G21 with the MOS system for just over $600 OTD at a local shop. If they ever come in. The owner tells me he expects a shipment sometime this month.

Yep. Haven’t been to one in years except for the big Tulsa Show in Oklahoma. Only one worth going to in my opinion.

Local shows have the same old dealers with the same high priced schitt they’ve had for years.

If I need a gun or ammo, or want to browse, I frequent my LGS. May pay just a little “extra” but I don’t mind helping the local guys stay in business.
Been buying guns and ammo there for at least 45 years.

If I’m looking for true “collector’s stuff”, I head to Tulsa. Still find some decent deals there once in a while.

I attend the local "small town" shows in Kerrville, Fredericksburg and New Braunfels and always have a good time and find an occasional deal. Most of my firearms "deals" have been on consignment at a couple of LGS's.

Gun shows are fun but I haven’t been to one in years. The internet made them obsolete, similar to malls unless you’re just out for a walk and to kill time.

I guess it was when my knees were really going down hill, & on the way home from a big show in Louisville I was hurting. Add I had a pocket full of cash & couldn't find anything cheaper than I could sit at home & order.

I started figuring. About 40 bucks worth of gas, $8 to park, & 12 to get in. I'm out 60 bucks & my knees, along with a few connected parts were killing me & I didn't have anything to show for it. A new toy might have made it better, but had several dry runs before that. It seemed most dealers looking for suckers, their stuff gold, mine was chit. Instead of a normal profit margin, many sellers trying to get 50 - 100% return on their money. I'd been to way too many shows for decades & was seeing the trend.

That was about 12 years ago & my last show.

Haven’t been to a gun show in about three years, and doubt I’ll ever go again, partly cause the prices are stupid and the internet accomplishes the same easier.
And I used to go to 5-6 gun shows per year.

Shrap, did you sell many of those primers?

I saw them on the other thread and thought if I was there I'd have relieved you of a couple thousand, just for "safety's sake".............you know, if the Zombie Pockalips comes along in my lifetime.

None. I also have several thousand 22 caliber VMax bullets at $20.00/box and didn’t sell any of those either…

Exactly sounds like a bunch of dummies who bought chit at the hieght of the shortage and now are trying to get their money back. I can buy a brick cci SV up here for $40 bucks, primers well we know the deal but definitely not $20 bucks a sleeve. 9mm ammo has been on sale for $13.99 box of 50 not bad these days and it’s in stock.
