I would love to go to Iran, I think it would be fascinating.
There is no way in heck I'd ever do it, short of going as some sort of diplomatic delegation. Which is about as likely as a dinner invitation from the pope. And I'm not catholic.
We see these people ball bagging after getting locked up in North Korea, Iran, Russia... Often ex-citizens or first generation ex-pats. I often wonder of they weren't acting in opposition to the state, always wonder why you would go to a hostile country and intentionally do stupid stuff? Then cry and beg the US government to bail you out of the mess you got into?
