We had a potato peeler. Mom used a paring knife to peel potatoes.
I used the potato peeler to peel apples and pears! Took little more than just the peel.
I prefer to wash my potato, rub it with butter and bake it in the smoker! Eat it skin and all!
French fries skin and all!
Potato salad? Buy to little red potatoes! Wash 'em, boil 'em and mash 'em up for the spud salad! Skin and all!

Cleaning those tater peelers took longer than doing it by hand. I got to where I could break 4 eggs at a time - 2 in each hand, and not get hardly any shells in the pot.
