If this were Idaho: within Rez boundaries, DNR better have written permission in triplicate from every tribal member before putting one foot across the border.

Even off-rez, fish cops don't have much, if anything, to say about tribal members hunting or fishing regardless of seasons, limits or methods. Maybe if it involves dynamite.....

I would say the guy with the stands was probably technically within the law. DNR didn’t want to move the stands because of they would just be moved back or somewhere else. So, they got cute and blew them up.

Indians have special rights and privileges all across the State, not just on The Res.

Could have been staged to give the tribe a reason to sue for millions, gotta love kickback schemes.

No, not millions, but it may set legal precedent that the MN DNR has no authority inside the res, even if on State Forest land

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a forty ounce malt liquor, a crack pipe, an Obama phone, free health insurance. and some Air Jordan's and he votes Democrat for a lifetime.

… the method of demolition did not follow DNR policy or reflect good judgment.

Turn the offenders over to tribal justice. Is Leech Lake too far west for running the gauntlet as a form of punishment?
