Anyone else noticed that within the last 3-4 years or so that the desirability of the 99C has expanded greatly? I am not just talking about the 22-250 and 7mm-08. I am talking about the numerous 308s out there. They very often sell for $1K, and often much more. The 300 EGs and Rs are back to their normal steady state of $5-700, unless totally mint. But the 99C is like the M77 Zytel Rugers. They just keep going up and up IMO.

Even very common post mils in general have become very desirable in the last 6-8 years.

10 years ago there wasn't much interest in them. $400-$500.

I didn't think I would ever own a post mil 99, but over the years I have warmed up to the early cut checkered specimens.

99c 308with an LPVOis a viable self defense tool in a gun ban state

Not perfect, but with a couple of magazines in a stock pouch, you can give hell to home intruders

I don’t know if this is the reason, but I have a nephew in CA that uses a Ruger American to hunt and defend the house.

Still have the 99C 22-250 and CD .250-3000. I thinned some of the herd out last year and will most likely thin out a few more this year.

Why wouldn't they appreciate? They're very useful tools! Just today I defended my life against an aggressive boar ground squirrel with a 99C in 358. I'm just glad I wasn't carrying a 243, it could have gotten ugly. Teeth popping, snarling, frothing at the mouth. It was a fright.

I had a 99C .308 for a few years in the late 80s. Sold it to a cousin after I found a 99F .308. Should have kept it, didn't keep the 99F (replaced it with 99F 300Sav). Cousin still has the 99C, but it's reserved for one of his grandsons now.

There are more out there. Go buy one.

I personally like the older 99 stuff, it's classic...but I'm not against owning some of the post-mil items...I actually have some beauties...recently acquired a nice, minty consecutive pair of 99C's series A... attached a pic of the barrel markings

No post mil 99’s for me Randy, could never get past those Monte Carlo stocks

Sold a 7mm 08 99c a few years ago. The rifle in my opinion weighted too much for my liking.

I throughly enjoy my 99C 22-250, even though it's a safe queen. I will sell it in 10 years when I can (hopefully) retire.

Are these the guns that were on sale at Jaquas in Findlay, OH?

BTW…

I own a 99C in 284 Win.

It’s killed 4-5 deer and one huge pig.

My boy has a C I bought from Roy, damn great shooter. I’m thinking it’s one of the best rifle deals I ever made. I messed up when I let my son use it.

Why, yes they are...what were your thoughts on them, when you saw them? I was hoping for 2 consecutive 7mm-08's, when I first saw them up for sale smile

I thought they were an awesome catch. Very, very few people will ever get an opportunity to get something like that. Even 99Cs in 308 are nutty expensive. A mint one by itself can easily go into 4 figures. Matching it with a 7mm-08 is really special.

Congratulations on getting them. Wish they were mine.
