I’ve been dozens of times and I don’t care if I ever go back. I enjoyed old Las Vegas when it was authentic and much cheaper. It’s not anything that interests me anymore. I enjoy playing poker but that gets old quick.

Have been a few times. I'm one that enjoys a wide variety of entertainment. We decide what we want to spend on vacation, then go! The wife likes the shows and slots, I like the shows and rolling dice. Now that her Alzheimer's is getting worse, I am probably done with the fun times we had in Vegas. And yes I read the op question.

Good answer! But probably not a common reason in this case. He better gird his loins before traveling.

I have a nephew who has been a dealer at the Belagio Casino/Hotel for many years. He came to visit us several times. Once I asked him if he gambled?

He said, "Hell no. Las Vegas is there for one reason and one reason only. To take your money. They'll take mine just like they'll take yours. " He has several friends there who get together for hunting and fishing trips, etc. He puts his money in the bank and in certain investments.

FWIW.

Been there once, nov. 1992, one of the biggest and greatest events of my life, and no it wasn’t to get married or hit a big money jack pot.
While living in Alaska, and hunting every critter I could draw or buy a tag for , I hit the jack of of all jack pots, for a hunter, a desert sheep tag on unit 262 just west of Vegas. It was the first year NDOW issued a single non-resident tag in the unit , and only 39 individuals applied, so I only beat 39 to one odds. Customarily odds of drawing a sheep tag, in those days were 400/500 to one.
Nov. 28th 1992 I flew in to Vegas, excited as a father anticipating the birth of his first child , maybe even more so. At about 4:30 pm nov, 29 zI harvested a magnificent desert sheep, within sight of the beautiful city of Vegas, like they say viva los Vegas. Don’t think I have been back.

I have neighbors that go couple times a year, they always win big. Can't think of a single time they lost so I always look forward to the story with a straight face.

I am on the opposite end. For 30 years , three months out of almost every years, I worked at the Nevada Test side, spending every other weekend in Las Vegas until 1992. I probably didn't gamble $100 the whole time.Never went to a show. It didn't take me long to get bored with it. Have no inclination to go back

Have a few friends and relatives that go there periodically for long weekends, get a ways, etc...

All of them ALWAYS win money lol.

Never heard anyone say, "Hey I went to Vegas last week and lost my ass."

I was there just last weekend, April 12-15. Went to a hockey game and saw a few shows. Saw all I needed to see.

Tens of times during the 90's all were work related conventions, conferences and symposiums.

No place else in the country back then to have hundreds of people for that cheap. Flights, rooms and meals. Not to mention the entertainment.

Back then it still had the Casino Movie feel to it especially the early 90's.

Been a handful of times since 2000 with family and friends for different reasons.

2018 was last time.

Might go back sometime before 2030.

Wife won a 25k Jackpot there in 2005.

This ^^

Harry Reid fixed me of ever going to anywhere in the entire state of Nevada. I don't do business with leftist POS's like Harry.

Due to work I went there probably 30 plus times in the last 15 years... always on the company dime... Never really gambled much but there is a great food scene there... some really great restaurants both in and out of the casinos. I always had a lot of fun there. I stayed out of trouble, watched others gamble, gambled a little, ate a lot of good food and saw some shows... Oh and the national final rodeo is a blast there as well. I will be going back on my own dime here in the next year and use it as a base to fly in and out of for a trip around the southwest

Passed by on the freeway but never stopped. Stayed at the Railroad Pass Casino up the hill. A companion had his credit card hacked there by either a waitress or cashier when he let them pack it off to pay his meal bill. I used cash. Would like to see a few shows, but I'm probably too cheap to gain entry.

Done Reno a few times for meetings. Early on there was cheap but good grub to be had. Not that way anymore.
