I am looking for a base for mounting a scope on my REM Model 7. I have found a base I like and the ad says it fits Rem 700 ADL and BDL short actions. Will this base fit my Rem M 7 ??

No. Only other one piece base that I know of that fits a model seven is for the XP 100. miles

As stated above, M7 Takes its own bases. The rear portion of the action isn't as long as a 700

One that will work for both M7 and 700's is the Burris 2 piece. It's also nice for mounting scopes low. One catch...make sure your M7 has 2 holes on the rear, some older models only had one hole tapped.

Seven's need ALL the help they can get with ring spacing and while I shoot dozens and dozens of the BurrAss Extreme 2-piecers on 700's,I muchly prefer a 1913 on Seven's. The (3-hole) Seven's especially need all the integrity help they can get and the DD XP-100 1pc is trite on ring spacing.Hint.

Flipside being Howie Mini's wearing JO BDL guts,as a 1913 rail slows things down, for loading the mag. The BurrAss is a nice way to fly there,as I wasn't "blessed" with Lady Fingers. Hint.

Just sayin'.............

I went with this on mine but mostly because the scope to be put in service already had the Talley QD steel rings.

Stick,
The Athlon scope you recommended is on the way and I will order the EGW 1piece Picatinny rail from Midway as you suggest. When I order rings should I get low, medium or high rings for the REM M-7 ??

Ring selection depends upon a couple/few things. Hint.

Barrel contour, stock design, the specific scope(obviously) and creature comforts. With a 1913 rail aboard a Seven/700 or similar and said glass, upon a Sporter contour,I can/do happily drive 1913 low rings. Hint.

Have shot dozens,configured same. Hint...............

The overall length of a 7 action is shorter, and lighter than a short action 700. But the loading/ejection port is larger making it easier to load and unload. But this requires scope mounting holes to be pretty close together. The early model 7's only had one hole on the rear receiver ring which required 1 piece bases.

One of my older M7s had the 3 hole setup and I had my local smith drill and tap a 4th hole for $35.

It opens up more options for mounts, and you don't have the 1 piece rail in the way of the loading/ejection port.
