When I took my chl many years ago the instructor gave us a long dissertation about not taking arms or ammo to New York. Seems a frog his accidentally had a handgun in his luggage and it cost him lots of money to get out of the mess. Can’t remember all the particulars but it seemed like a setup.

See, this is where red state governors could help. If I were governor of Oklahoma, where the guy in the story is from, I would tell the government of Turks and Caicos that unless they rescinded this policy immediately that I was going to start a oublic service campaign with television and internet warning people to stay out of Turks and Caicos and to spend their money elsewhere. Such a campaign would catch on and it wouldn’t take long for other states to join in. They would be begging for mercy before you knew it.

I just don't get it. BUY ANOTHER BAG THAT YOU DO NOT/WILL NOT TRANSPORT GUNS AND AMMO WITH!! PS- Turks and Caicos is a schithole, anyway. Why TH would you go there in the first place? Except that it was probably CHEAP. There's a reason it's cheap, people. ANOTHER numbnutHappened to me after an elk hunt in the Colorado Rockies. On my way home, they kept running my carry on bag through the X-Ray machine, and they'd call someone over to look. Then they'd call someone else over to look. Then I walked over and asked if I could help them with something. They showed me the image of a five pack of .270 Winchester ammo. I was like, oh crap, I didn't know that was in there. I had put it in my hunting jacked pocket and forgot about it. Once I explained that I had been elk hunting, they cut me a break and asked if I wanted them to put it in my checked luggage. I told them to just dispose of it, and that was that. Apparently, this resort island (Turk and Caicos) is British territory, so ordinarily you'd think the US State Department could tell these people to get a grip, it was just an accident. But under the Bolshevik Biden regime, who knows.

Why do people delight in traveling to poor countries where they're disliked / unwelcome.
Sense of arrogant superiority, maybe ? Warm sandy beaches and drinks with little umbrellas in them. Turks and Caicos is a cesspool. MANY better places to go. Yeah, but is it a CHEAP cesspool? Probably. But, I don't look at costs for a vacation there anymore because I've had many friends go there and tell me what a schithole it was when they got back.

I distinctly remember TLee telling a story after 9/11 and TSA about his daughter, I think. I'm not 100% on it but I'd say I'm directionally accurate.
Female police officer leaving Chicago area to go to NJ for extradition of a perp. Hits TSA. They confiscate her nail clippers due to the file attached to it. Confiscated and thrown away. They then proceeded to hand over her Glock service weapon with ammo. Nail files - bad and as a LEO can't be trusted. Glock - just okay! Afterall she's LEO.
TSA is a waste of time and money.

People still go to parts of Mexico that are cartel controlled. And there's some that still go to the Middle East, Egypt, N Africa, etc. As much as I'd like to go to some of those places, I'm smart enough to know it likely ain't a good idea if I want to come back.

I lost a switchblade at DIA back in 2000 and 1.
Right after 9/11.
Lady dug it out of my shave kit. Made a fuss, called some guys over. They didn’t let me keep it. I’m sure some douchebag cop or his kid still has it. 😂

I just heard the tail end of this on a radio show today. I think they said that the guy was shooting skeet in Turks and Caicos, and left a few shotgun shells in his pocket.
