Thinking of putting one on a 22HP.

If yes, what was your expedience with it?

IME the peep sight is more useful than the scope.

The Boone Saturn is more of a novelty than a practical/useful rifle sight.

I looked through one once.

I can't think of a reason I would need to look through one twice.

I was not impressed.

I ran one for a couple years on an 1899A short rifle in 38-55. It was the 2 1/2X model. I was amazed how easy it was to get "0" and hold it there. The year after I mounted it I took it back to the range and was shooting it when all went black. I took it off my shoulder and the scope rattled. I thought all was lost. Somewhere I got a set of instructions for it and disassembled it. There are 3 triangular mirrors inside and one of the mirrors came loose. I super glued it back into place and to this day have never had another problem. I think though, that it should be thought of as a magnifying peep sight rather than a scope. Someday if I come across the 4X model I might be talked into it. I would not use one as a general rule, but I have often thought of taking it into the field to kill a deer but I never did that.

You made my point, the Boone Saturn is not a practical/useful rifle sight, at least that is my opinion of them. I have a couple of them, one that is NIB, and the bases for a couple of different rifles, plus one of the auxiliary peep sights from back when I was collecting Savage 99 accessories.

I've mounted several different 2-1/4 and 4 X models and shot them at the range. Still have a 4X on an 1899B. It holds zero OK.

I would never trust one to hunt with. The mirrors fall off as mentioned and the adjustment plate can slip past the adjustment screws.

Neat concept but poorly designed and built.

I got one this winter, plans are to put it on a .22 or something, more novelty, but kinda cool too. Better than a compass on my stock, right!
