I remember when Jim Rice went into the stands after a child was struck in the head with a foul ball and carried him into the dugout so the team physician could administer first aid

I had watched Rick play a lot at ASU - they won the CWS while he was there with Bobby Winkles - and followed his MLB carer fairly closely. A very good man - that flag event did not surprise me at all, but I sure was touched.
