Actions have consequences. Both sides are fugged. Unfortunately, one can no longer defend themselves

The shooter is a coward.
Sucker puncher meet sucker shooter.
No difference in the two. One just had a gun. Booshit.

Another good lesson in this video is how long it took for the guy who got shot to go out of action. It was a fatal hit, but no CNS damage; probably took out the big blood vessels above the heart, but if the guy had been armed with a gun he could have been able to let go with a few shots before he was completely out of action. Lesson being, shoot until they stop moving.

No difference in the two. One just had a gun. I disagree. The shooter had been standing around minding his own business when he was spontaneously delivered a potentially fatal blow to the head. He was in a very justifiable state of anxiety with regard to further assault. The puncher’s actions also put the victim in a state of diminished reasoning ability. The threat was still there, it’s not like the guy who punched him ran off. He could just as well have been planning to go after the guy and finish the job. The shooter was perfectly justified in using whatever means at his disposal to ensure that he had ended the life threatening behavior of his assailant. Do you think you’re only justified in using a gun if your assailant is using a gun? Good luck with that defense!

There was a time when "he needed killin' " was a defense.......
With the limited info here, it might apply!

Do you think you’re only justified in using a gun if your assailant is using a gun? Good luck with that defense! Yeah, that ain't gonna fly. Once you disengage, you lose the right to reinitiate force of any kind, let alone deadly. If he drew and fired in the midst of the struggle, he'd have been justified under the law. Once you disengage, you are legally in the wrong to reengage. Regardless, good outcome as to the sucker puncher. Sad outcome regarding the shooter. Hopefully, extenuating circumstances will reduce it to "heat of passion manslaughter" instead of murder, and he gets a very short sentence, perhaps even time served.

I wouldn't convict the guy if I was on the jury.

I wouldn't convict the guy if I was on the jury. Me neither. Regardless of the technicalities of the law, that guy had it coming, and it would be an injustice for the shooter to serve much if any time behind bars.

Guilty of firing a weapon in city limits, fine him $500 and give him a case of ammo.

He's guilty of NOTHING. Totally justified! He should walk away with a thank you.

If there’s no audio, claim that the puncher said I’m gonna do that every day and you’ll never know when.
Obey lawful commands. Video interactions. Hold bad cops accountable. Problem solved.

The shooter was a victim of a simple assault. He left the building and was out of danger. The assailant (punk ass bitch) didn’t pursue him. The shooter made a bad decision to punish the guy who hit him. Certainly, the fact that he just got punched will mitigate what he did, but he took someone’s life who was not a threat to him at the time. My guess is that he won’t be charged with murder but will likely face manslaughter charges. If he’d gone back in there and beat the hell out of the guy who punched him, we’d all consider that appropriate. But like it or not, this ain’t the old west. Decisions have consequences.

It’s obvious that this isn’t the “knock out” game and the incident took place out of the United States
