While cleaning my gun room I came across an old M700 20 inch .270 Win. barrel that was a take-off from a long-a-go project. I have no use for it. If interested, PM me.

What is the barrel date code & does it have the sights?

Yes, it has sights. Date code, what's that? On the left side of barrel, just forward of reciever, there should be some letters. There should be 2 that determine month/ year. sometimes there's extra characters along with them. Post these and we can tell date of manufacture.

U is the inspectors stamp, 32 is the assembler’s stamp and PL is the date code. Looks like June of 1964.
