Apparently, Ron DeSantis and President Trump met together in Florida for “several hours” Sunday morning at the request of Ron DeSantis. Gee, this is a big surprise (/sarc) DeSantis brings nothing to the MAGA table and positioning himself for 2028 only makes his snake underbelly show even more right now. Sure, Casey and Ron both realize the “Top Gov” did the big stupid, but one thing is certain to happen from me, I will never allow people to forget this vain effort at recovery. DeSantis needs to disappear, and Trump needs to Make Shame Great Again. Hat Tip: Sundance - More HereFug DeSantis. Trump helped him once, then DeSantis stabbed him in the back, taking The Swamp's pay-off to Knee Cap him - Crash and Burn. Now, he wants Trump's help again. Ron DeSantis and his wife Casey are SCUM BAGS. Pence v2.0. MAGA does not need nor want them.

A puzzle to me. Here’s a guy that won election by a hair the first time around with a Conservative agenda, does what he said he would and cruises to reelection with an easy 20% majority. Meanwhile President Trump is constantly ridiculing the guy, doing the Democrats’ for ‘em. So now he’s Ron Deazzhole? Why?

So now he’s Ron Deazzhole? Why? Guess who never pays attention in class. Pro-life. Signs Florida’s Constitutional Carry law. Pro parental rights in education. Bans DEI Makes “gender affirming care” illegal. Wins reelection by a landslide in a State that had been teetering on the red/blue edge. What did I miss? President Trump ridiculed him so now he’s a d$ck?

Who is a better pick then.
Right now Trump has very few allies.

Right now Trump has very few allies. The list is pretty short. The VP has to be able to govern if something happens to POTUS.

I will not speculate the purpose of this meeting, but I am quite sure it is not about DeSantis being his vice presidential running mate. Those that just skim over these posts, please pay attention before attacking me. While it is not illegal for both a presidential and vice presidential candidate to be legal residents of the same state, it is politically a bad move. There is a quirky rule that the electorial votes from the Electorial College can only be counted for one candidate or the other if they should be legal residents of the same state. Hence, Trump would loose all of Florida's substantial electorial votes. This has come up here repeatedly over the years, but many apparently do not pay attention. Case in point, back when Bush was running Cheney had to officially establish his legal residence as Wyoming and not Texas so they would not face this situation. If the case had been with a state with very small electorial votes, it might not matter much, but I am pretty sure Trump will not just throw away all of Florida's electorial votes. I would think it would be pretty hard for Trump to declare his legal residency as being in New York now as opposed to Florida. So, I would say that something else is being considered, which I will not speculate. Whatever it is, I am encouraged that there is an effort for them to mend fences.

I don't have anything against DeSantis. In fact, I think he's done a great job as our Governor. Just thought it was a dumb move to go after POTUS 2024. He could have kept grooming and polishing himself for a very positive 2028 POTUS result.

He could have kept grooming and polishing himself for a very positive 2028 POTUS result. He's probably been working in concert with Trump the whole time. Someone needed to Drain the pocketbooks of the deep state Rinos. DeSantis did just that.

Whomever Trump's running mate is, it must be someone who is capable of stepping up four years later because that is all that Trump will be able to have by law. He may be the best by far to take on the job, but I cannot imagine that four years will be enough to straighten this clusterf__k out. Trump thinks way ahead, usually. I could speculate as to a few possibilities, but I will not at this time. I will say that there is a good possibility that maybe Trump might be wanting DeSantis to be available in four years if Trump's chosen veep doesn't quite make the grade for an advancement? Who knows for sure, but having "Plan B" and "Plan C" is a good idea. We shall see. Of course this is all a mote point if Trump is not the declared winner in the upcoming election. Note that I did not say if Trump actually wins the election. There can be a difference.
