Another in 300 Savage that I picked up recently. Didn't really need it, it's 1953 and I have a 1952 RS in 300 Savage.. but the price was right and I haven't bought anything in quite a while grin.

Quite good and unmolested, tho it's been hunted. Not a hint of a scratch behind the rear sight slot where a sight would have been.

Bluing was rubbed off on a patch on the left side is the major flaw. I'm betting it sat next to a bolt action in the safe or in the closet. That's fine, it is what it is. And so hard to find guns that seem to be original 1950's 99RS's.

New house doing good, tho this was the view a couple blocks from the old house on Friday...

Passed within a mile. Derailed a train, destroyed a business with 70 people inside (few injuries, not sure how severe). A suburb of Omaha got nailed real bad, few spots in Iowa also. Heard the number of tornado warnings from that storm system set a new NWS record for one day.

Good score on the RS! Ya' just can't leave 'em behind!

I watched a similar view of the funnel out my basement window while living in KC. Never got any damage but had some awesome weather.
Spent 12 years there. Prolly the best place I ever lived. Sure miss the fishing and hunting in that part of the world.

That’s an honest gun. Looks like it was used as intended. Good find.

Tornadoes …. They seem to have a narrow and focused path of destruction. One came all the way straight across north Dallas from west to east and traveled through my neighborhood in Garland (NE Dallas suburb) - 2019, I think. Massive damage. It traveled straight down my aunt’s street - she lives 8 houses away from me. She had some tree damage and shingle damage. The house across the street from her (9 houses away from me) was lifted up, twisted, and sat back down on its foundation; had to be demolished. Several 65-year-old oaks were pulled out of the ground. One was laid down across a driveway, crushing both a pickup and a Jetta. Yet I didn’t even had any leafs blown into my yard.

Yeah, they can be very narrowly targeted.. or occasionally take out wide swaths.

Was driving through Lincoln where that twister above started, and found an area in a parking lot about 200 yards across which had mature trees... Well, it used to have mature trees. Not they are all busted off 6'-10' off the ground. But it apparently raised back up and skipped over a mile of houses and set down in a field right past them.

Lots of damage in some communities tho. This is some of the damage over by Omaha.

I had a close call a few years back. One angle crossed 1/2 mile south to a 1/2 mile east of us. You don't realize how lucky you were till you see friends houses bull dozed up in piles next to the road ready to be hauled off.
