The 338-06 section has some pretty impressive velocity numbers. You've seen what the 160 TTSX can do, right? Not saying that the 175 Hammer isn't scooting along. Noticed that they don't show the charge weight for the top speeds - hmmmmmmm I've only been able to get a 175 LRX up to 2,850 in my '06 so far.

I started with Hammers last summer, just testing, not hunting. It's safe to say there is nothing out there like them.
If you take your favorite rifle and load with cup and core, drop bullet weight bracket to a lighter bullet (because of increased mono bullet length)...chances are, if you start with your old favorite powder...you will run out of case capacity before you hit pressure. You WILL get velocities far above what your past experiences were, without pressure indications. Suffice it to say my problem child 7x57, always cranky and picky, now meets or exceeds my .270 Win for velocity with 130 Hammer Hunter with no pressure signs. Load development was either lucky or easy, I'm not sure which.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

You WILL get velocities far above what your past experiences were, without pressure indications. It's like they defy the laws if physics - you know, f=ma and stuff like that. Given mass can be driven 100 - 150 fps faster than others without vunderpowders.

That was before I started using Hammer Bullets. The Hammer design allows less friction and those bullets can move faster than regular bullets. DF

Those are some very nice velocity numbers. Dang it DF, you are going to make me buy some Hammer bullets to play with in my 338-06's. Enabler  I just got the 338-06 back I sold to a good friend. It is a Model 70 classic FWT wood/stainless, with a half moon barrel and 1:12 twist. The load I had worked up for him is a 180gr NAB.

This is an absolutely middle of the road load. MK V in 257 Bee ultralightweight with a very thin fluted barrel. I just stopped there. ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/6daQaFW.jpg) They can and will go faster than conventional bullets
