Most (not all) of Shawn Ryans episodes are great. This one is one of the better ones imho. Great listen, pay attention to what the guest is saying, it might surprise you.

He left billions of dollars in military equipment in Afghanistan. What's a couple of million every months ?? I certainly hope that if Donald Trump gets back in to the Whitehouse he orders the taliban to start sending the equipment back to the USA or he blows it in place with cruise missiles. If we can't have it, neither should they. Maybe even blow up a few taliban bases while he is at it.

Guest is a naturalized citizen that came to the US pre 9-11. Enlisted in the US Army and went over and served.

He’s there now fighting with what’s left of the previous government that the taliban overthrew.

He’s not asking for money or equipment. Simply to stop funding the taliban.

Contrast that with the [bleep] in the ukraine and their demands.

For sure Shawn Ryan gets some very informative guests on and is able to draw out some details that other interviewers aren't able to.

While I've only caught parts of this so far, I'm going to listen to the entire podcast later on this week.

Interesting times we're in to say the least is it not?

The biggest thing I took away from this interview was the contrast twixt what he is asking for and what th ukraine is asking for.

I’m amazed at how poorly the Biden Admin handles the withdrawal and there is no excuse for leaving American citizens and armament behind, but I am very glad we’re out.

There never will be western freedom in the ME because they’re not westerners.

Hell Europe isn’t even “western” anymore and America is headed to whatever tribalist [bleep]-show Europe has in short order.

I feel for the man being interviewed he is basically reliving the cycle his homeland has seen played out over and over and over.

The podcasts just take awhile.

Couldn't stand any of them until I got noise canceling muffs and a smart phone.
Now, they run in my brain at work. Can't really focus, never can, but between hearing strange voices in my head and trying to pay attention at work, the days go faster.

Shawn's interview of Andrew Bustamante last year - former USAF Nuke officer and CIA operative was pretty interesting as well. I don't take anything as gospel but I am interested in interesting points of view.

Remember - year old when he's talking about Ukraine/Russia at that point.
