Running warm loads and unstable powders are a recipe for disaster

Where I hunt, I’ve seen 70+ degrees F to -40 degrees F. Trying to get the last 1/4” of accuracy and having the point of impact change by 1 MOA or more doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t matter when I sight in because weather change can be significant in a short time.
I’ve done what I’ve could to divest powders that are sensitive to temperature change. Thanks for the tip on RE22. I have not used that powder in quite a while. But looking over notes I see that I have gotten good accuracy and velocity with that powder more than a while ago. I’ll probably sell the RE22 now.

I prefer classic.

I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

If you didn’t like 26’s sensitivity then 22 won’t impress you.

This ^^^^

'22 is a great 7 Mag powder if you don't need to hunt in the weather extremes.

Use it sensibly & it will be fine within reason.

MM

100% MM. I used it a lot in 7 mags and 300’s and never missed a buck or bull. I used to use all the 22 I could, it was reasonably priced and was always pretty accurate for me.

When I get time I will develop a load with RL-23 and the 160 grain Accubond.

RL-23 has shown good velocity and accuracy for me as well. The issue might be finding it....

Yup, I have a couple of pounds and would like to buy some more but haven't found any available recently.

That is the bummer cause man it’s great stuff. I wished I’d have guessed it was going to triple in price.
