Strap-on-a-10 acts like an ass hole 99% of the time, that's why he has a problem with cops.
I was pulled over by a Montana state trooper because I was doing 87 in a 65 mph zone. He saw the four or five cased rifles on the back seat and asked if we were hunting, I said no, target shooting. He said he liked my hat so he let me off with a warning. It was a Noveske hat.
Strap-on probably would've ended up in jail.
Gonna go with never happened since there isn't video.
Iowa has had open carry literally for years. The problem was other citizens who did not know (or like) the law and were always calling in on someone who was open carrying. This required a police response whether we wanted to do it or not. We were obligated to do a follow up and locate and ID the person. The bottom line is few citizens would open carry to avoid a confrontation just like this.
The biggest issue was people who didn't like the law or were ignorant of the law and forced us into an investigation. 99% of the time we simply located the person and watched them for a bit to determine their intentions then did the stop. This happened a lot in the fall during various hunting seasons.
On it's best day it was a mess.

Your Dept requirements are backasswards.
Instead of following up on a call that you know is Bullschit, go directly to the caller’s residence and gather info and inform them that these types of calls will no longer be tolerated and go back to work leaving the gun owner alone.
It's obvious you are too stupid to have a conversation with.

So no going after the bogus caller when you agree with what they complain about?

When it's an anonymous caller the answer is no. We still follow up on the call regardless. It's obvious you don't know what the f**k is going on and are too mule headed to see the big picture.

There are plenty of videos of people engaging in 100% legal activity getting hassled by le because they "got a call" and also the le seem to really dislike the activity in the first place.

Why the “obligation” to ID someone “suspicious” just because “someone called”?
It's the job. Didn't you see the line about where I said "[b]99% of the time we simply located the person and watched them for a bit to determine their intentions then did the stop".
What if their intentions were criminal and we blew it off ?? I can't think of 32 years as a LEO we ignored a citizens complaint. I don't know what they do in your A/O but we followed up a citizens call. Yes, even stupid ones.
kwg
My point was this: law enforcement does not have the authority to ID any person if they do not suspect that the person is committing, has committed, or is about to commit a crime. Once contact is made and it is determined that the person is engaged in lawful behavior, the obligation to ID the person is over. They can ask for it, but no person has to comply with the request for ID. And by the way, being called in for suspicion is not an actual or articulable crime and cannot be used as a pretext to force a citizen to ID.

Is acting like an ass hole the failure to play along with any whim of le when they are engaging in a criminal act?
Yes, that is exactly what it means. Simply comply and give up your Constitutional Rights, or else
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a forty ounce malt liquor, a crack pipe, an Obama phone, free health insurance. and some Air Jordan's and he votes Democrat for a lifetime.

LOL, you're probably the only ass hole in the country who'd video a cop who was gonna let you off on a speeding ticket.
Huntsman22 was riding shotgun numbnuts, ask him.
And no, you're the only one on this thread I call an ass hole.
How did you know in advance the cop would let you off unless you are also a cop or at least had your vehicle adorned with TBL regalia?
No, the nurse didn't play along with your hero so she was an ass hole(per the standards of your crowd) for not assisting him with violating her patient.
Of course had the hero known the patient was also a cop it is unlikely any of that incident would have happened.

LOL, you say you have never had your rights violated, but you are qualified to give advise to those that have.
Interesting.

When have you had your rights violated during a routine traffic stop? honest question.
