Anyone try an ar 5 round magazine in a ruger American? I was thinking of buying one in 5.56 and thought the ar 5 round magazines would be a little handier to carry. Thanks in advance

I think Promag is the only true 5 rounder that's not a blocked 10 rounder, and we all know that's People Realize Our Mags Are Garbage.

jdb,

For the Ranch rifle in .223, you can buy the bottom assembly and standard rotary mag. from Ruger. I did that for my grandson's rifle.

guess I've been lucky. Have had 2 American Rifles in 243 with rotary magazines. Both feed flawlessly.
