Rick is building these Cheslights for several customers at the same time...
This is NOT mine... Mine is all wood.
But overall this is the same size.
This one will be in Chincoteague, VA
That sheen is fiberglass and epoxy.

Second load ready to roll out in the AM...
In all truthfulness, these are the parts for the two 20x20 cottages that I am also building.
- Four 12" x 12" x 12' columns
- Eight 20' Summer beams
- 22 Rafters.
Eight+/- loads total... regarding parts.

Good thread! I wished I lived near. Would enjoy seeing the assembly . Are you getting any twisting of the columns after install ? Do you know the moisture content of the wood prior to glue up ?

No, he has no idea. He's doing all of this on a wing and a prayer.

We use a poly adhesive (
https://purchaseadhesives.com/products/polyurethane-adhesive-solfre2-3161 ) it is moisture activated (identical to Gorilla glue). The wood is kiln dried before building the beams.
Internal blocking or EPS foam keep the XY axis very very stable.
From a L/240 or L/360 perspective these are as structural as LVLs or Lams.
