I recently came into a model 219 chambered in 22 Hornet. It's an early one, Utica address and striker fired. The problem is the trigger, it's crisp, but about 7 lbs. pull weight. I'm not looking for a target trigger, but would like to knock off a few lbs. I figure some stoning of contact areas might help some. I also thought about lightening the sear spring, but it looks like it also puts pressure on the locking lug, so maybe that isn't a good idea. It also looks like there is a lot of sear/striker interface, maybe more than necessary? Before I start smoothing with the stones, I figured I'd ask if anyone has successfully lightened up the trigger on a 219 and would provide any suggestions or helpful "do this/don't do this" hints. I have done some trigger stoning on various other guns, so I'm not a complete novice, just have never had one of this model before.
Thanks

You're right about the spring if memory serves. I did the light stoning trick with the last one I had and it helped a bit - a somewhat lighter/smoother pull but still a lot of creep. Not wanting to mess with the sear interface for safety reasons I left well enough alone at that point, and learned to live with it.
