In Grandfalls, NB. At the ProNature store. It was a shocking $114.99 a pound plus taxe. Even with the exchange I was shocked.

None LOL, I am a long way from being that desperate. The only way to trip over a bargain is to look.

$70 a lb seems the new normal. Spotted reloader 16 at $79 just nuts.

I guess we can forget $35 a can.

Probably forever. My last big jug was H-4831 for $189 from a LGS. That was a few years ago.

Glad I have a pretty good supply of what I use, acquired back when prices were sane.

DF

Edited to note, $189 divided by 8 is $23 per pound. Now that’s cheap.

I just bought a couple lbs. of H4350 from my LGS a couple weeks ago for 56.00 per. Didn't notice if they had any IMR4350 as I don't use it.

One could almost buy a gun for what they want for an 8# jug, or at least make a serious down payment on one.

Like someone posted, with the cost of components, not as much incentive to reload. Yeah, and try to find large rifle primers....

But, ammo isn't cheap either.

Vote Dem, Biden is gonna straighten all this out.

For sure.... Now, if you believe that.... shocked

The thing is, some people will still buy it and will still hoard it. This being the case, the price will never come down. GD

I very much agree. Nobody panic buys like ammo/component consumers after what we have seen since 2008.

With the supply demands for powder on the world market. I don't think it will matter.

Edit to add.

The high prices we see are not being driven by retail consumers like us. There is a much bigger picture here. I am not happy about prices either.

It is absolutely being driven by consumers like us. Profiteering is happening elsewhere as well, but the consumers are a major driver. If consumers won't pay the price, the market will readjust. All else is just making excuses. GD

Yes, and it all depends where you shop as well.

I looked at exactly one place - Higginsons, just outside of Ottawa. They are selling a pound of IMR 4350 for less than $75 CDN or $54 USD. Even with tax and shipping, it’s less than that particular shop in NB. And it is delivered to your door. 🙂
