Old style mags, yes. New style mags no. The original magazines for all Glocks were 100% polymer except for the mag spring. They would actually swell when fully loaded and would have to be plucked out when empty. That was corrected about 1992 or so and a metal liner was made integral making it a "drop free" magazine. It is NOT a problem and actually could be a good thing in the FIELD. We were issued G17's, then G23's with the older mags. Part of the drill was plucking out the used mag.

Old style mags, yes. New style mags no. Yep. Make sure the mags are "drop free" mags; you'll have no problems.

It ain't really a prob VA. Never bothered me at all. Once a guys brain makes the adjustment it is just part of the drill.

It's always been the brain, that's been my problem.
Gotta admit, though.... if 15+1 of 10mm goodness (17+1, if I use the Pierce +2 extensions) didn't solve the problem, I'd likely be worried about a whole lot more schit than whether the mag dropped free.....

I bought Glock factory extensions for all my G23 and G27......we're talkin' about 30 LE, hi-cap mags to begin with. Don't know if they've the extensions for the G20, but would think so.
Both gave me 2 extra rounds and they are all Glock, original quality extensions.....works for me.

The G20 - it's what keeps me from needing another .45acp.

Actually, the original magazines were metal lined on three sides (sides/back, not front). The newer are full metal lined. Left is newer full metal lined (seam is on the back) that drops free in any condition, right is the older 3-sided metal magazine that sticks when it is loaded, drops free when empty (usually).

Just passing along what this place does to me....
FWIW, the G20 is hand's down my most favorite large bore (.35+ caliber) handgun ever.

My AMT Longslide Hardballer has not fallen out of favor , however it has been sidelined for a little while with the addition of the G20 to the family.

Hard to not love something that's ugly as sin, tough as nails, you don't care about getting dirty or even forget to (ever) clean, and still delivers the goods with stupid accuracy, tons of thump, and more than you'll ever rightly need of firepower.
Tell me you got the version with night sights, and I'll tell you that you have the Grail....

VA,
You try an aftermarket barrel on yours yet? Maybe a 6"er?

I can't wait. I'm getting a G20 in less than a month or so. I shoot Glocks like no other pistol. It just points where I do. All other handguns I can shoot well, it just takes longer to aquire the sight picture. Glocks is easy.
