Recently received a 2x7 model after a 1 1/2 backorder and was wondering if anyone has any experiences, good or bad, with the Prohunter series. Read a review by J.B.(rifle #222) and he was impressed enough that he wrote that he would be getting one and that he didn't know of a better scope for the money or of a scope as good. It's now mounted on my .300 which, with this scope, weighs in at 7lbs.11ozs. empty but w/sling and butler covers. Won,t have a chance to test it for awhile(recovering from back surgery) but if it doesn't make it its no big loss. I have heard Meade warrenties aren't worth much but heck Columbus took a chance,so we'll see what happens. til later
P.S. That was a 1 1/2 yr. backorder.

I dont know about the Prohunter line but I hope they are better than the Whitetail Classic line or any of Simmons binoculars. Ive owned both the above mentioned products and on both of them I had lenses come loose through normal use, not unususlly hard use.
I hope your experience with Simmons is better than mine Earl.

These look good. Please give us your opinion after you've 'tested' it. capt david

i have one of these old one on my 10/22 rifle. i've never had to rezero it after the intial sighting. for the money i thing they are the best cheapos out there. i don't know if they changed them or not, with that scope i can get the turtle's head at 50 yards every time

I have three 3x9x40 Prohunters. I can't find much wrong with them for the money. They do seem to have a thin main tube that marks (deforms)easily. I agree that they are light, solid and a good value.

Just read about a good experience someone had with the Simmons/Meade customer service dept. It's on the Accurate Reloading forum,optics,29 Jan. 08 if anyones interested. Just noticed in my original post I left out that my 2x7 Prohunter is a Master Series scope.
til later
