ok an old topic but i'm about to setup reloading and want to see reloading benches for ideas i've seen some nice ones on previous threads in past but in the search i didn't find the particular one i was looking for so please help with plans and pics

I had an old sturdy table that I sawed down the middle and screwed both halves to the wall. On one is my reloading bench, on the other this computer. It has worked out well for this particular space.

At my last house I used a solid door for the top that I picked up used at the hardware store for $25 and built some legs under it. The top was very sturdy and heavy and needed no reinforcement. It is still in that house I think.

My pics of these are not very satisfying.

I'm thinking seriously about building this style bench this winter. I like the idea of the removable inserts for case trimmer, powder measure, etc. Someone else on here (bobski?) has this style so may be able to post his pics if it's the one you're looking for.

WiM, that's pretty much the style of bench that I have been using for many years, with the exception of one of the supports being directly under the press.Adds a great deal to the rigidity of the platform as well as being lagged to the floor to allow strength on the downstroke as well as the upstroke.

All my equptment is permanently mounted in a fassion that allows me to reach each one without moving from my chair or relocating my chair.

Made mine from a piece of counter top.

well...as (not) promised... here's my set up

I'm a little limited on space. this is my bench (the RCBS for <416, the Lee, Forster for > 416)




my dies and sundries I keep in 2 boxes + a tackle box + loadbook and pull out to put on the bench behind the table per session



the contents:



the supply house ( powder, ammo in the right one, bullets, primers in the left one):





the table was an afternoon project with the kids (then painted) as were the cabinets (instant gratification on the boy's part = no paint )

it works well, a little more room would be nice but I can't complain...

Had this made to my specs. The top is made out of 2" maple strips "butcher block" style. The top is 36" by 45".

How did you make the little stand the press is on? Can you provide some close ups? Looks very interesting....

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that's a Sinclair press stand, if not, it's a darn good copy!

I started off underneath the stairs at my moms house, then into a closet in my first house and now I get a good sized portion of the unfinished basement for my reloading....

It is a Sinclair. I was going to mount the press directly to the table, but I couldnt bring myself to taking a drill to that maple top.

ok maybe i misled with saying a particular one what i meant is particular one that fits my space and needs easy to get ideas through veiwing pics some of the old post i can't access pics they show up as a little box with a x and i can't or don't know how to open them

This one takes up little room, is yer space little enuff?........



2 measures, 3 presses, and 2 trimmers mounted on a old truckstop cafe table base with a 30 inch wide piece of 1/4 inch plate bolted on top. 32 inches from outside of measure handle to outside of trimmer handle. The rest of the junk is on a shelf above, or in the gun cabinet. Space saver, huh?... Don

My reloading toys are in a small area too. The workmate is a pretty sturdy platform, and is all I need to make hunting ammo. I picked up the workmate for 20 bucks, removed the handles and added a shelf on the bottom and mid section by fitting some wood within the leg braces.

Here's a set of plans I found somewhere for the reloader who is just starting out. I would highly recommend framing with 2x4s and screws for added stability. With little imagination through stackable plastic cartons you could come of with shelving for powder dies bullet and such. Tom Purdom
