I bought a bull pac 3-4 yrs ago. At the ime everyone raved about how great this was, it was the best. Now I hardly ever hear anything about it and if I do its mostly negative??

I must admit I have a few beefs with mine but nothing too serious. I even used mine on a Stone sheep hunt, worked ok.

So do most buy on impulse and then buy again when the next flavour of the month comes out.?? This means other gear too.

Ok my biggest beef withthe bull pac is there is too much padding in the shoulder straps. Heard one guy cut out half the foam??

Not a rant so what to make it better ??

No, Dave, the Bullpac is STILL a superb pack frame, BUT, some other types ARE better for much of what many guys here do. Now, some DO enjoy the buying and selling and consequent testing of gear, nothing wrong with that and some, like me, are willing to spend the bux to get what really does work best for me and I keep almost all of my gear until it is totally thrashed, always have and always will.

Call Janice at BP and she will sell you narrower and thinner straps for $25.00 plus shipping, she told me this shortly before Christmas. For hauling heavy loads of anything relatively short distances, the Bullpac works just fine, but, a good internal properly adjusted is usually a bit more comfy on longer forays as in sheeping, etc.

My Bullpac is now 6 years old and a young friend wants it and may buy it as I have enough packs with my five Mystery Ranch ones and am selling the others.
