EsKom has been having trouble keeping up with the power requirements they provide( or try to) for all of Southern Africa. Here is a memo I recieved from an EsKom Employee today
Eskom would like to remind its customers and those monitoring from elsewhere that it is no longer politically correct to refer to "black outs".
Reference must now be made to "previously lit" areas!!
Political correctness hits RSA now!

Its actually not so funny we loose a lot of money the mines cannot mine traffic is F&#ked without traffic lights working. And shops and companies are losing a lot of money and production. But luckily our base camps runs on a nice big generator so we are independent from escom.

Part of the reason for the SA blackouts is that SA is supplying Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia etc with power........
