I went down to my gun pimp to buy a new Winchester Super X2 in 3 1/2". He says he can order one, but has a Franchi 3 1/2" gun with a gas operated system for the same price. I believe it is a Viromax or something like that. The gun feels real good and fits me well. He says Franchi is owned and backed by Benelli/Baretta and that the guns are reliable. Can anybody give me some real life experiences with Franchi shotguns? Thank You!!!!

I dont know anything about the Franchi, but can vouch for the Winchester Super X2. I shoot an 870 pump for dove and quail, but when the waterfowl season starts, I use the Super X2. Its an awesum gun, I would put mine up against a Benelli SBE anyday, anytime.

Iowahunter:<P>I have no knowledge of the Franchi model you are talking about, it may be perfectly OK, but the Franchis of years back were light guns, handled well, but tended to break fairly often. I haven't priced a Super X2, but, if it were my decision I would get it or a Benelli or a Beretta and avoid the Franchi.
