I have a '99 Dodge Ram 2500, with the 5.9L 24 valve diesel, that I am going to sell at the end of '08 or early '09. I'll sell it privately, as it will sell quickly, and I would just take a beating by trading it in. Absolutely nothing wrong with the truck, in fact it is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. I'm just getting tired of the noisy engine and rough ride without a load, and want something quieter and easier riding, especially for long trips. It will have around 80K miles by then. I have added some goodies to this vehicle, including a performance chip, an ATS lockup torque converter, and performance valve body, which have greatly enhanced the power and performance of this vehicle. Question- is it realistic to expect some price premium for this stuff, or is it worthless to a potential buyer?
I'd rather be a free man in my grave, than living as a puppet or a slave....

You'll only get pennies on the dollar for the extras.
220 Swift still king.

Pull the chip and sell it on a site like Diesel Truck Resource, the tranny parts will make an easy sale, but dont expect to get your money back.
I assume you have guages to monitor EGT's with that chip. The lack of guages with the addition of a fueling chip is a major red flag to a potential buyer if they know anything about diesels.
Where's the beer??

It's doubtful you'll get a lot of extra $$ from an individual, and guaranteed no stealership will give extra $$.
However, it may help you to sell the vehicle when a potential buyer knows there are goodies thrown in for "free."
Personally, I try to buy add-ons that I can take off and sell individually. I learned the hard way about all this.

Ask alittle more for the truck... Those mods might make or break the truck sale. Some people will take to them, other's know that most folks who add power like to use it,and they will stay away.
