Back to the range today with the Shiloh 45-90. Put about 5 shots out at 50 yds playing with the sights and then decided to move to 100 yds. The first round was on the paper, so I elected to send out 2 more rounds just to try for a group. Here's the results. Yes, it was about 4 inches low, but I was totally tickled. I'll work in some elevation and give it another go in a couple of weeks. Measurement was from the outer edge of visible leading (top to bottom) on the paper. This was with a post front sight, but I think I'm going to try an aperture up front on the next go around.
I was also dialing in a 240 Weatherby with an 18 X scope and didn't do near as well with that. If I draw a tag next year, elk beware. 1Minute
Edited: With a little after thought... It's probably one of those beginner's luck deals that won't be duplicated for another 5 years.
