Looks like the same group that own Remington,Bushmaster, H&K and NEA also bought out Marlin. Will be interesting to see what changes they make.

I hear Marlin is going to get in the Center bore rifle market. Expand thier line, I guess we will have to wait and see.
No matter how good a rifle looks if it shoots over 1 inch groups its ugly.

Remington that they are closing out the Gardner, Mass plant for New England Firearms and H & R 1871 by December this year and moving production elsewhere. They had been in Gardner since the 1800's.

Does anyone know if the line itself will continue to be made off shore, or just die out completely?
I used to drive by that place when I would have to go to Auburn for work, and the exterior looked they hadn't spent a nickel on it since the 50's

The H&R plant was originaly in Worcester, Mass for a hundred years. I lived a half mile from it growing up. Thier break top model 999 and later .38 S&W model pistols were excellent, had both. They made hugh numbers of M1 Garands and were still making them after Korea. I have one and around here the match shooters all want H&R M1's.
