1st - You really have to take World Net Daily with a grain of salt. It's classic yellow journalism. They have some good commentary, and good reporting when the source isn't WND, but if you see that WND is the source, you'd better back it up with several other CREDIBLE (read-not other conspiracy theory sources) sources.

Third - as already pointed out, when the anti-Christ comes, there's nothing you, I or anyone can do about it. As the Bible says, just be ready...Meaning, have your heart right with God, and don't worry about anything else.

Fourth - I'm no end times theologian, but my impression is that the anti-Christ will be an extremely charismatic individual that just sweeps everyone off their feet. While I'll admit, Obama is charismatic, he's hardly sweeping people off their feet. He's narrowly beating the Wicked Witch of the North. Really now, exactly how impressive is that?

How would you know if he succeeded or not?

The initial mission of the anti-christ will not be to start wars but to bring peace just when it seems no one or nothing can. Given our world today, that may be a soon-to-be realized scenario. As mentioned he will be someone with much charisma and a believable resume to accomplish that, although I believe he will also be a relative unknown. At first he will seem to succeed and will be given more power. An uprising will occur that he will put down ruthlessly, and institute draconian oppression culminating in setting himself up as god to be worhipped. To give credence to his claim of divinity, he will be able to do miraculous things and revive from fatal wounds. Those who refuse to worship him will be tracked down and killed. I believe that covers most of the main points of the prophesy.

The city on seven hills gives us some hint as to the actual location and seat of power of the last and final military/political antichrist of Daniel.

Being a Cincinnati boy, I've ofton pondered the question of seven hills (born on mt Adams, lived on several others, moved out as soon as I could....)

The truth is, I read the back of the book a few times. There's a lot of nasty stuff in the middle, but guess what? We still win (you just have to ask yourself who "we" is -along with what "is" is- and if you are one of the "we").

A little more meat about it is that Obama can't be the ac because the ac will have convinced everybody that he is a "true believer", and the best friend the Jews have. All but the elect will buy it. Can't find many people who believe that about Obama.

A great preacher, Dr Barnhouse, said years ago that the coming of the ac is a lot like riding a train to the mountains. At first you start off and the mountains look so large that you think they are closer than they are. You may ask what time you'll get there, but the answer is that they ar really a long way off, and it will take a long time to get there. Then time passes and it seems like you may never get there. Suddenly you notice you are going up hill, and you ask, are we there? But no, it is just a change in terrain. The train goes on and you get used to the new view.

Then you notice that you are in hills and you say, surely we are in the mountains now, but no. It is just the foot hills. As you get closer there are more and more examples of what you think are mountains, but are just the precursors of the mountains. The hills get larger, and every time they do you think it is the mountains, but it is not. You grow used to this and complacent, finally sleeping and are convinced you'll never reach the mountains. And that is when, without warning, you are suddenly there.

There have been all sorts of people who have been convinced that this person or that was the ac. Various people in old times have been written of as being the ac; Neapolian, Musilleni, Hitler, Nixon, Kissenger, Carter, Reagan, Clinton, Saddam, and now Obama. As we get closer there are more and more precursors who seem more and more like the ac. Soon we will become complacent and all but a few will say that there is no ac. That is when he will come.

The truth is there has always been that spirit of antichrist around. When that which with holds the evil is taken away, then he will be free to come, and all will welcome him.

Instead of prophesy, however, maybe we should focus on a promse that would keep the ac from coming for some time:

"If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2nd Chronicles 7:14

No politician will either bring the ac here, or keep him away. That is solely up to the people of God. So, are you a "we"? Or are you still convinced that MTV is a good thing?

Oh. I thought you were referring to my "crap". I have a notion the thread was originated not so much based on religion as it was politics. I did not find TT308's biblical arguments particularly sound and believe he is more concerned about the results an Obama presidency might have on the country politically. But that is just an opinion.

It is still all bad, considering that a baby-killer, gun-grabber, socialist-marxist is about to be president. Might as well be the ac, but actually he is just one of his little helpers I would think.

TT308, I don't mean to be critical of your opinion. Certainly anyone could be the anti-christ. One thing I do suspect is that the actual events will be much different than what the most accomplished Biblical scholars believe will happen. God just seems to work that way. The one thing you have absolutely right is being watchful and considering what might be. I don't believe God wants us to dwell on these issues, just to be aware of our surroundings, and how those influences line up with His Word. What He does want is our surrender and faith, and we do that best through Love for others. I have struggles there often, but resolve to do better with His help.

I do believe Obama would be the absolute worst president for this country. I truly hope he does not get the nomination. As hard as it is to say, Hillary would be better in the job than O and also easier to defeat in the general election. She's a polarizing figure while Obama seems to be someone many are drawn to.
